Divine Enlightenment is a spiritual journey of meditative music and themes exploring mystical thought. The music draws stylistic influence from a diverse array of composers like Steve Reich, Beck, Phillip Glass, Moby, Trent Reznor, John Cage, Lou Harrison, Leo Brouwer, Henryk Gorecki, Cosmo Sheldrake, and Arvo Part.

Each piece has verse that explores related mystical contemplations. The verses have themes that draw influence from Judeo-Christianity, Gnostic mysticism, Greek Philosophy, and Buddhism.

The songs are all original compositions by Rod Skelley. They feature classical guitar with layered instrumentation including strings, piano, keyboard and percussion.

Divine Enlightenment is a sequel to Meditation and Imagery that released in 2011 and features new versions of the songs Meditation and Imagery and Eclipse.
