From the recording Divine Enlightenment
Eclipse II: Alignment of the Spheres is track 2 on the 2022 crossover classical Rod Skelley album, Divine Enlightenment. It is a reimagining of the song Eclipse from the 2011 Rod Skelley EP Meditation and Imagery. This meditative piece has a rhythmic flow via a moving ostinato. A simple long melody brings light and color to the rhythmic base of the music. The harmonic structure is a simple I-V with the A section in D and the B section in A. Eclipse is inspired by the minimalism of composers like Phillip Glass and Steve Reich as well as crossover artists like Moby.
Instrumentation features classical guitar, piano, strings, keyboard and percussion. The song was composed, performed and recorded by Rod Skelley.
Lyrics
Verse for Eclipse II: Alignment of the Spheres:
A shadow appeared in the abyss and from it a darkness emerged out of error. Not a shadow passes into the eternal realm of truth. The spheres align and the light shines from the plemora. From the immeasurable light a power emerges to eclipse the darkness of the limitless chaos. From that power emerges the divine light that was trapped within.
