Weeping Willow is a contemplative piece from the 2011 Rod Skelley album, Meditation and Imagery. Recorded at Audible Images on a Douglas Ching classical guitar. Inspired by the music of Manuel Ponce and Francisco Terrega in the style of Andres Segovia and Julian Bream.

The song was inspired by a weeping willow tree down the street from Rod Skelley's childhood home. The piece was a favorite of Rod's father.

Lyrics

Weeping Willow

A weeping willow, the most noble living thing, beautiful, strong, sad, bending and compromising, always listens to every thought and feeling, never complains, never worries never creates discord

It gives of itself to all other living things
It is a universe all to itself, a web of life
Cry for me, weep for me, remember me
