From the recording Auto Epiphany
It’s All Right is track 8 on the 2021 Infused album, Auto Epiphany. Lyrics and music for It's All Right were composed by Shawn Huss and the recording features Dave Carles on bass and Rod Skelley on electric guitar and drums and Shawn Huss on vocals and acoustic guitar. It’s All Right is a hard rock song with a groovy beat and a floating lead guitar part that riffs throughout the song.
The lyrics to It’s All Right describe an addict’s internal struggle with addiction. Shawn describes the first verse as the voice of Jesus talking to an addict - “Hello, it’s me again….for you I’d bleed again” - trying to give the addict hope and strength. The chorus is the voice of an enabler or pusher telling the addict not to change - “It’s All Right…..you don’t have to change a thing.” The second verse is again the positive voice of a new age spiritualist trying to help the addict by pointing out the spiritual self “wrapped in flesh.” And the chorus repeats the mantra of the pusher and enabler. The song seeks to recognize and affirm the struggle of addiction and the humanity of the addict.
Lyrics
Hello
It’s me again
For you
I'd bleed again
But not until
You at least try
to see the hope
that lies inside
Oh it’s all right
It’s all right you don't have to change a thing
Oh Yes you're right
It's your life
And it's your suffering
Here we are
A play in time
Wrapped in flesh
Caught in this rhyme
Seasoned by
Their endless lies
But now’s the time
To realize
Oh it’s all right
It’s all right you don't have to change a thing
Oh Yes you're right
It's your life
And it's your suffering
