Love Withers (Quiet) is track 6 on the 2021 Infused album, Auto Epiphany. It was composed by Rod Skelley and features Shawn Huss on acoustic guitar, Dave Carles on bass and Rod Skelley on electric guitar and keyboards.
Love Withers (Quiet) is an instrumental version that remixes some of the melodic themes of Love Withers Away (track 2). The song takes you through a mesmerizing journey through the emotional power of the loss but without words.

The idea for creating an instrumental version came from a suggestion by Rod’s wife while listening to him create the keyboard parts for Love Withers Away. The keyboard parts became the focus of the song and the drums sounds were changed and new guitar parts were added. The video for the song continues with the emotional and mesmerizing theme with imagery for meditation.

Lyrics

Love Withers (Quiet)

Chorus: Love withers with time, why must it be so
Love withers and dies, why must it be so
The tears fall in vain as silence makes its presence known. I know not what the hour is as time is standing still. Although holding each other, we are no closer than strangers. The love quickly transforming into pain.

Make believe everything is just fine, we tried and failed. We embrace memories, instead of each other. Holding onto the securities of comfort. I know it is merely finite and fleeting.

Trying to keep hold of the slipping moments. Knowing things will change. Trying to forget the practical reasoning. Trying to forget how we’ve grown apart.

Each kiss, each embrace, each to be our last. We are no longer who we were. Loathing any movement to the future. Embracing the fading memories.
